The Third Paradise between sharing and inclusiveness
Art meets neuroatypicity
Connection, interaction, dialogue, generation, collectivity, responsibility, society, science, art: there are many key words that could be associated with the socially engaged art initiative that was inspired by the Third Paradise on 19 September at the Presidential Estate of Castelporziano, and which saw the participation of neurotypical people, neuroatypical, children and adults. The performance, which aims to dissolve the paradigm of distrust towards the different, is proposed by Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto Onlus and Connettivismo in the framework of the Quirinale Contemporaneo project of the Presidency of the Republic.
The performance was presented to President Mattarella at the closing party of the social initiatives of the Presidential Estate of Castelporziano on 29 September 2023.
The realization of the symbol of the Third Paradise formed by neurotypical and neuroatypical people wants to emphasize the value that otherness and differences have in a community. In the wake of the work of Master Pistoletto, emerges substantially the conjunction of Art and Science, specifically Art and Neuropsychiatry, from which the close collaboration between Master Pistoletto and Dr. Zoccante: two worlds that in turn need an ever more open and sincere dialogue so that society can grow on solid foundations, tools and awareness.
Quoting Pistoletto, in the Third Paradise the balance between the various aspects of social life is made possible. It is a civilization in which differences are not removed, but brought closer to produce convergence, coexistence, understanding, sharing, inclusion and exchange.
The inspiration for the initiative has its roots in the Theory of Connettivoma – recently published by Dr. Leonardo Zoccante – a scientific-interpretative model that goes beyond the traditional approach to autism spectrum disorders, therefore considering the person in his psychosomatic totality and no longer solely for the neuro-psychic aspects. Similarly, the performance aims to overcome the idea of acceptance in order to achieve coexistence, sharing and sharing not only in art, but also in everyday life. It is precisely in sharing that the realization of inclusion and integration is established, from which the intent of performance to shape a time and a space of sharing, where the sharing of an activity lays the foundations for models of coexistence, comments Dr. Zoccante.
